Summary: Assists the Health, Nutrition, Safety and Emergency Preparedness Team in meeting and exceeding Performance Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Assists in the collection of health information required by Head Start Performance Standards and Indiana licensing

2. Assists in organizing and conducting screening activities for children enrolled in the program

3. Provides support to families in securing physicals and shots required for program participation

4. Collects weights, heights for children enrolled in the program

5. Monitors meal service to children with special dietary needs

6. Supports dental, physical and mental health education activities for families.

7. Assists in recording and tracking data.

8. Facilitates inter-agency and intra-agency collaboration that supports the Bauer mission.

9. Assists with events as assigned.

10. Assists with special projects or other tasks as required.

Must be 19.5 years of age or older.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill required. The individual must be able to successfully pass background checks.


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license

Experience Required:

  • 1-2 years previous experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Commitment to serving children and families in poverty with the highest quality services
  • Willingness to learn and apply new knowledge
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiar with medical terminology and Early Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment (EPSDT)
  • Basic math skills
  • Organization and time management
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus

The starting hourly wage for this position is between $10.73 and $12.74
